Parking Petition

Parking Petition

The new parking enforcements have dealt St Anselm’s a crushing blow. We have already lost income from the loss of morning bookings and the cancellation of our coffee mornings. We rely heavily on the income from weddings, events and the hire of the parish hall to cover the maintenance and preservation of the church building and of course, to keep its intended purpose of providing for the spiritual needs of the local community. The church is of great historical significance with many unique features. Who knows what will happen if it cannot continue to be self financing.

We hope to be able to make local residents aware of the financial difficulties the church is now facing and the consequences for its future.  We have presented the Council with a petition asking for a review. We hope that the parking restrictions will be reduced to just one period a day from Monday to Saturday.  We are also investigating the possibility of making it possible for some cars to park behind the church off the road. The church is always open for coffee at 11am after the Sunday Service. Visitors are very welcome.
